The high nickel content ensures outstanding corrosion resistance in acidic, alkaline, and marine environments, while copper enhances ductility and resistance to reducing conditions. Low carbon and sulfur levels minimize susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and improve weldability. This balanced alloy structure enables Monel 400 tubing to withstand extreme temperatures, resist stress-corrosion cracking, and maintain mechanical integrity in demanding applications such as chemical processing, marine engineering, and oil and gas systems.
