Alloy C22 tube is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy engineered for exceptional corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments. Its high chromium content enables robust protection against oxidizing agents (e.g., nitric acid, chlorides) through a stable Cr₂O₃ surface oxide layer, while molybdenum and tungsten synergistically enhance resistance to reducing acids (e.g., hydrochloric, sulfuric) and localized corrosion. The nickel matrix ensures ductility, thermal stability, and stress corrosion cracking resistance, supported by ultra-low carbon and controlled trace elements to prevent sensitization and phase instability.
