Overview
Tantalum is ductile, superconductive, has high-temperature strength, low thermal expansion, and high capacitance. It is tough, durable, and ductile, tantalum also offers good workability and weldability. In addition, it possesses the ability to grow uniform and stable oxides with good dielectric properties. Tantalum has excellent resistance to corrosive attack by acids and liquid metals.
Tantalum and niobium co-exist, the hardness is second only to tungsten, rhenium, and osmium among the metal elements. It is easily hydrogenated, it has the highest corrosion resistance and has a very good affinity with human tissues. Tantalum capillary is often used to manufacture medical devices and special instruments.Its special manufacturing process is quite different from other metal capillary tubes.
Application
Tantalum capillary tube can be often used as the filament lead tube of the cathode insulator in an X-ray tube. And it is used to make medical devices, special instruments and etc.

Corrosion Resistance

Tantalum is famous for its resistance to corrosion by acids; in fact, below 150°C, tantalum is almost completely immune to cor-rosion by aqua regia. Due to its resistance to attack by body fluids, tantalum provides an excellent material for medical devices.Due to its much longer service life and maintenance-free durability, tantalum has proven to be your most cost-effective solutionfor corrosion protection in pharmaceutical and chemical processing applications. Another major use of tantalum is for electron-ic components and due to its absorption properties, it is an excellent getter of residual gasses in evacuation tubes.
