Palladium Silver Alloy

  • Overview

    Palladium-silver alloy is a binary alloy with silver as palladium matrix. It is the largest palladium alloy used.

    Palladium and silver are infinitely miscible and form continuous solid solutions. The liquidus is very close to the solid phase line, and the liquidus is very close to the solid phase line. The maximum resistivity and tensile strength are located at 38% and 30% ~ 40% silver content, respectively. The purity of hydrogen filtered by palladium silver alloy can reach 99.99999%.

    Palladium-silver alloy has good oxidation resistance at room temperature, and its oxidation resistance increases with the increase of palladium content at high temperature. It does not change color in sulfur-containing atmosphere, and can be dissolved by nitric acid and corroded by cyanide.

  • Characteristics

    (1 ) The alloy can be directly processed into tube, rod, wire, sheet and foil of various specifications.

    (2) Large hydrogen absorption capacity, good selective hydrogen penetration ability, can be used as hydrogen purification and hydrogen detection materials.

    (3) Good corrosion resistance, can be used as electrical contact material. The resistance temperature coefficient is low and the resistivity is stable.

  • Application

    Palladium silver alloy can be used as electric contact material, resistance strain material, precision resistance wire, high purity hydrogen purification material, fuel cell electrode, filler metal for electronic industry, etc.

  • Palladium Alloy Tube

    Palladium alloy tube commonly known as palladium tube, used for hydrogen purification. The mechanical properties of pure palladium are poor and easy to be hydrogen brittle, so palladium tube materials generally add appropriate amount of group IB and VIII elements in palladium to make palladium alloy and improve the mechanical properties of palladium.


    Application: Used for the separation of hydrogen and impurities

    Operating temperature: 300-500℃

    Composition: Silver about 20-30%, other components <5%.
